I am interested in getting certified for math. I was part of the last group of test takers that were given life-time cerification (English and reading). My question now is, will I receive only a five year certificate or will I be able (or is there such a thing)to "grand father" a life-time certificate in math.

| You will receive a five year certificate since the new certification is after Sept. 1, 1999. This means you will need 150 hours of continuing education every five years in order to renew your certification. Good luck. |

| I challenged the Spanish secondary 9-12 excet & TOPT which I passed and received additional certification. This excet test also tagged on to my ESL/Bilingual Certification which I already had prior to Sept. 1999. I am now able to teach ESL (1-12). This this allow me to teach Reading ESL since I am certified ESL 1-12. I hold a life certificate for Elem Ed (1-8) with a minor in English (1-8). |
