Graduate Faculty. Responsible for academic program
development and administration, faculty and staff recruitment
and development, facilitating scholarly activities, establishing
and maintaining relations with internal and external
constituencies, budget management and other duties normally
associated with academic department administration.
Department consists of 28.5 FTE faculty, 655 undergraduate
majors, 50 graduate majors. SFA has a large basic instructional
program. A dance major is offered; athletic training and driver
certifications are options. Kinesiology (NASPE) and Health
Science (AAHE) programs are certified. This is a 12-month
position. Classes taught include Applications of Technology in
HPER (Graduate), Administration of HPER (Graduate), Trends
and Issues in HPERD (Graduate), Sport Psychology (Graduate),
Foundations of Kinesiology (Undergraduate), Emergency Care
(Undergraduate), Senior Seminar (Undergraduate), Freshman
Orientation, various activities including Taekwondo and SCUBA.
Developed dance major and graduate program in athletic
training. Chair and member of thesis committees in Kinesiology,
Biology, Forestry, English. Member, doctoral dissertation
committees (Education Leadership).

administrative functions, including administrative responsibility
of Intramural and Recreational Sports Program and
Intercollegiate Athletics (for two years). A Dance major was also

faculty per quarter, representing an FTEF of approximately 32.

ICDP was comprised of faculty from various disciplines
throughout the university and offered programs leading to the
B.A. and M.A. degrees. The Coordinator facilitates the programs
of 1150 undergraduate and 50 graduate majors.

Responsibilities included teaching classes in the basic
instructional, professional and graduate programs; service on
thesis and comprehensive examination committees; service on
department, school, and university committees; faculty advisor to
student chapter of CAHPERD. Classes taught include: Theory &
Analysis of Movement Experiences for Children, Movement
Experiences in Growth & Development, Statistical Procedures in
Physical Education, Research Design, Measurement of Human
Performance, Physiology of Activity, selected activities.

this area of specialization, supervision of student teachers,
serving as a member of the department's administrative council,
coordination of university and community programs.
federally funded program jointly administered by the NCAA and
the Department of Health and Human Services. Overall
responsibility included program planning and operation,
recruitment and selection of approximately 35 staff members per
year, staff evaluation, and preparation of appropriate reports.

stress tests on astronauts and astronaut candidates as well as
executives participating in a longitudinal cardiovascular disease
study. Responsible for pre-, in-and post-flight physiological
assessment of astronauts. Coordinated NASA programs with local
colleges and universities. Directed cardiopulmonary assessment
during SKYLAB and APOLLO-SOYUZ TEAM PROJECT (ASTP).
