- I whole-heartedly agree with Frank Codispoti and Patrick O'Shea about the concern over using business terminology at SFA and about the need to emphasize the notion of academic community. As I see it, we aren't selling a commodity to customers but are providing an environment in which students are able to grow intellectually and develop the capacity for the life-long learning that is necessary in today's rapidly changing global economy. To reduce higher education to either the acquistion of a piece of paper or the equivalent of specific job training is to lose the essence of a university.
