- Dr. Codispoti's comments on the idea of community are really exciting. I have used the
- term 'ownership' to decribe a way of involving faculty and staff more in the university, but
- I know that, deep down, as a member of the academic community, I have always wanted to feel that this
- setting was more 'soul and mind' satisfying than being in the private, profit sector.
- I think that there is much being done in the private sector, particularly in entrepreneur type
- business that can be applied here, but the pride comes from being connected
- with the endeavor of improving one's knowledge and awareness, not just selling a product.
- In the early 70's, when I attended college (SFA, as a matter of fact), I felt that community.
- I don't feel it as much now and that may be because of changing student and social attitudes toward
- education. I think it would be a worthwhile goal to regain that
- sense of community and improve on it.
