SFA/American Council on Education (ACE) Project on Leadership and Institutional Transformation:
Call for Input

SFA/American Council on Education (ACE) Project on Leadership and Institutional Transformation<BR> Call for Input

Twenty members of the faculty staff, administration and student body of Stephen F. Austin State University were selected to participate in the Pew Higher Education Roundtable. The Roundtable process is intended to help an institution pose important questions and hold constructive dialogues to enable institutions to see their strengths and obstacles with greater clarity. The Roundtable conversations serve as a forum for both voicing individual thoughts on the challenges facing an institution and for forming a collective understanding of these challenges within the campus community.

At the conclsuion of the Roundtable, President Dan Angel announced that SFA had been selected as one of only 26 institutions of higher education in the country to participate in a three-year transformational leadership project, the American Council on Education (ACE) Project on Leadership and Institutional Transformation. Nine members of the faculty, staff and administration (with President Angel serving as ex-officio member) were selected to serve as project team. They are:

* Dan Angel * Geralyn Franklin
* Janelle Ashley * Dave Kulhavy
* Tom Atchison * Lauren Scharff
* Rick Berry * Pat Spence
* Mel Finkenberg * Suzy Weems

The committee was charged with the task of identifying a comprehensive change issue for SFA. The theme selected is "Revitalizing Faculty, Administration & Staff: Enhancing Student Success." Several issues have been identified. For example, the committee felt that in order to affect this change, communication must be enhanced. We are now seeking input from a broad base of constituencies. This is your opportunity to identify what you perceive to be issues related to the theme.

Please use the space below to tell us what issues you perceive to be essential for "Revitalizing Faculty, Administration & Staff: Enhancing Student Success." Your participation is paramount to the success of this effort. Please take a few minutes to tell us what you think.
